This is the part where I'm supposed to tell you all about me. There is lots to tell, but I'm not sure how much you want to know. So let's talk abot the things that make me mostly me.
I'm a lifelong technophile. From the tender toddler age, I've attempted to pull apart everything I could get my hands on and know what makes everything tick. Since the mid-1990s, I've used this passion to professional ends and financial gain. My career that has spanned more than 2 decades has revolved around technology in all forms and fashions. From computer support and network administration for multiple companies in the financial industry to building PCs for home users at a small town shop to selling them at Best Buy to administering secure communications for the United States Air Force to running a global technical services team for a market leading SaaS company - I've worked through so many types and generations of technology.
Despite growing up in a relatively sports-free home, I'm a die hard New York Jets fan. We've been season ticket holders since 2014 after I moved home. We have a large tailgate family that is the envy of all other tailgates. Sundays at MetLife Stadium is some of the most fun Linda and I have together.
I'm a foodie, despite not having the widest palette. I love to cook and eat. I'm always on the lookout for new recipes or refining cooking skills. I especially like to cook Italian cuisine or put a modern and personal twist on favorite comfort foods. You can find me cooking an enormous breakfast almost every weekend morning. I love spiciness. The hotter the better. I have a collection of over 30 hot sauces and I've been seen (more than once) eating an actual Carolina Reaper. I hated hot food until 2012 when I decided I was missing out and trained myself to eat hotter and hotter.
I have a deep-seated passion for photography. As a full-time employee with a commute and a full-time dad I don't shoot as much as I'd like but I've been honing this skill for years. Capturing a fraction of a second in time and preserving it in perpetuity while telling a whole story through my eyes for that duration is like magic.
My nuclear family consists of my 2 favorite people on Earth. Linda and I love to do so many things together. We are rarely apart. We have constant fun. It's not always easy to be married to her or her to me, but there's nobody else I'd rather annoy/be annoyed by for the rest of my life. Nicky is the greatest accomplishment of my life. He's cute by objective standards but even cuter by my own. He's smart, healthy, funny, caring, loving, and an all-around good boy. He is my everything. Being a dad to Nicky is the best job I'll ever have and it comes before all else. His whole life depends on me. It's a powerful and moving responsibility and I'm honored accept the charge.
I'm fiercely competitive. I'll bet on anything. I'm terrified of snakes. I'm OCD (and not in the way that people say they are because they hate crooked pictures. That's a story for another time.) I do everything to 100% or not at all. I just don't have enough hours in the day to spend any of it "kinda" doing something. I'm loud and boisterous and never a wallflower, yet I hate being the actual center of attention.
I'm an ESTJ on Meyers-Briggs and a DISC profile D. These letters are responsible for my greatest successes and the parts of me that are intolerable. I'm my own yin/yang.
Most of all, I'm happy. I like to laugh and tell stories. I love my people. I'm honest to a fault. You get no bullshit with me. I'm just trying to do the best I can with what I've got while I'm on this rock.
